Mt Victoria MTB Nationals round

I took the fancy new Olympus E510 digital SLR camera up to Mt Vic to watch the PNP-hosted Nationals round today.  The early rain and showers made for some great carnage on the first morning lap but it dried out quickly and by the afternoon’s Pro-Elite race the mud had made way for dust.

  1. Ooooh new camera! Nice choice; I’ve always liked how nicely saturated colours are with the Olympus cameras :)

How are you enjoying the camera ?

  2. So far so good! This was the first time using the camera outside – all the previous stuff has been indoors with constant lighting and bike parts which don’t move. It’s a steep learning curve (my first time with an SLR) but it’s starting to make sense :-)

  3. Knowing you, you’ll have it all perfectly sorted out in no time.

Haha, yeah – that’s why I like shooting “stuff” in the studio much more than people; it’s generally very well behaved, you never have to worry about making it feel comfortable…or having weird lighting conditions…or having it move out of the frame before you’ve even reacted to it being in the frame…

Oh, and very snazzy kit (is that the right word?) being worn in some of those pics ;)
